Cades Cove weddings are what our Mountain Escape dreams are made of! We love shooting in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and in particular we love Cades Cove. It has the perfect combination of what makes great photos. Most views like the ones Cades Cove offers require a long hike but Cades Cove is a drivable loop. If you’ve never been, it’s worth the drive out there. Depending on where you are staying, the drive to the loop can take up to an hour or more but it is well worth it. It’s not a secret either. Over 2 million people visit Cades Cove a year! GSMNP is actually the most visited national park in the U.S. and we are not at all surprised by that.
Hannah and Caleb actually had their wedding in Pensacola, Florida but really wanted wedding photos in the Smoky Mountains while they were on their honeymoon. Not a bad idea considering you can shoot as much as you want without the timeline of a wedding day!
Photographers must be licensed in order to shoot in the park. We really take pride in that regulation because we want to ensure that our parks are around for many generations to enjoy for years to come. We are huge advocates for the “leave no trace” campaign.
If you are thinking of getting married in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park or in Cades Cove and you don’t know where to begin, we’d love to help with that. For starters, read this link for times and regulations. There is also a link to the form that the park requires in order for you to reserve your wedding date.
Also, if you are needing inspiration on how you can style your wedding or vendor recomenations, please let us know! We live for this kind of stuff guys.
Hannah chose to bring her florals with her. She used Porch N’ Posies near her hometown.
