I’m sure you guys remember the blog a while back with our friends, Piper + Morgan.
They are so dear to us! The engagement was incredible and of course their wedding was too.
Let me give you a quick back story…
Piper + Morgan wanted to do a partial elopement. Mostly they wanted to escape to the Smoky Mountains with their immediate family and say their vows on a mountain top with an incredible view.
As we were approaching the wedding day, the weather forecast was calling for rain. Not the standard kind of rain but the kind that a hurricane brings as it passes over East TN.
Up until the last minute, Piper and Morgan wanted to hang on to the idea of meeting their families mountaintop, but the fog was so dense, the higher you drove, the worse it became. The fog basically looked like a sheet over the beautiful view they were hoping for.
They moved it to the Airbnb they had rented with their family and I’m telling you, it couldn’t have been better. The rain stopped just in time for Morgan to step out of the car into what felt like an actual fairytale. We all felt like we were walking around in a dream.
Surrounded by family, Piper and Morgan read their hand written vows, took communion, and had prayer. All amongst the thick layer of fog that somehow felt like a hug.
Then they joined their family for a bonfire and some Chick-Fil-A, sooo pretty much perfect!
Rolling with the punches is part of a wedding day. Having the ability to rest in the fact that no matter what happens, you are marrying the person of your dreams is so valuable!
I hope this inspires you if you’re planning an intimate mountain wedding of your own. And know this, we are there for you, no matter how it pans out!
