We see so many proposals and it’s no surprise with the Great Smoky Mountains showing off like they do. Couples come from all over the country on vacation to GSMNP and a lot of times, the guy will pop the question. Being there for that is one of our favorite parts of the job.
This time was a little different though. I had been planning a camp weekend with my daughter and two of our close friends. When the pandemic started we had to put it off. We were waiting and waiting to get word that the national park would open back up. As soon as they made their announcement we went in to planning mode. We had all kinds of content that we wanted to shoot for our business, so it was the perfect decoy for Morgan.
While Morgan was busy being a model Saturday night (opening day at the park) she had no idea that her boyfriend Piper had driven up from Alabama to literally sneak up behind her and propose. We had set up the perfect girls picnic, positioned her against the perfect backdrop, and Piper was hiding down the road waiting for the perfect moment.
When I tell you that shooting these meant the world to all of us, I mean it. We were all crying as Piper dropped to one knee and gave the dreamiest speech a guy could give! My daughter and I both had cameras in our hands so we both snapped away but our other friend happened to be videoing and also happened to be Morgan’s sister. Can you imagine the emotions she was experiencing watching this go down?
The sun was setting over the mountains and two amazing humans were having the most special moment ever and we had a front row seat.
Not sure that these photos actually do it justice, but we sure hope they do.
Piper and Morgan: We love you guys so much! We can’t wait for your wedding!!!
