Where To Propose In The Great Smoky Mountains

Over the last few months, we have received lots of emails and phone calls from gentlemen looking for suggestions on where to propose in the Great Smoky Mountains.  If you’re a regular follower of our blog or social media, you know how much we LOVE the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so that’s always going to be our recommendation, and here’s why…

There are many beautiful locations in Downtown Gatlinburg, such as Ripley’s Aquarium, The Gatlinburg Space Needle, Ober Gatlinburg, and the Gatlinburg Sky Bridge.  We love all of Downtown Gatlinburg’s attractions and businesses.  However, we prefer a more “intimate” setting where we can capture this special moment in your life without crowds of people in the background, while also giving you an unbeatable view of the mountains.  That’s why our first suggestion is always Cades Cove.

We spend nearly every day in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so we know all of the good spots for each type of photography session.  For proposals, we have a secret spot in Cades Cove that seems to work perfectly every time!  During one particular week in October, we shot two surprise proposals at this beautiful spot.  You can see one of those proposals here.

When Justin was doing some research while planning to propose in the Great Smoky Mountains, he came across that blog post, then contacted us to set up the same kind of shoot for his proposal.  So like the previous proposals, we met them at our favorite spot.  Then after she said YES, we took them to several other locations around Cades Cove.
